Russian Tiger

Written by Daniel Barre.

I close my eyes and see your smiling face
There is softness when I think of you
A sweet loving girl who is always there
Even in the thunder of your storms

You are the one who ran away and found safety
Who transitioned from the house of sad stories
To the mansion on the drive

Innocent, stubborn and proud
Why do you pull my heart strings?
Even when you aren’t trying
When you push me away
Giving me your hard headed goat horns
Instead of your tender froggy lips

The hardest thing to do is hanging on to your tiger tail
Flying behind your fur coat and roaring mouth
But when your fury finally turns to peace
Our souls relax into deep space
The place where we rest in silence
It is a place of the heart
The one without words
